Our range of high quality bandsaws from Taiwan covers a wide range, from 350mm (14”) diameter to 700mm (28”) wheels.
We prefer the Taiwanese bandsaws to other bandsaws because the finish, accuracy and reliability are world class.
For the bandsaw blade to track properly on the wheels, the bandsaw must be constructed with the bandsaw wheels exactly in line and parallel, one above the other. Using the top wheel tilting adjustment of the bandsaw, the bandsaw blade can be tracked to the centre of the top wheel tyre and it should then automatically run on the centre of the bottom wheel tyre.
The bandsaw blade guides are also critical to the good performance of the bandsaw as they must be rigid, stable and set correctly to allow accurate cutting on the bandsaw. Those on our bandsaws are of good design and work very well when the bandsaw is set up correctly. Our experienced staff can advise on correct setting up of bandsaws (and other machines) on request.
From our Model SBW-4300 (17” wheels) bandsaw up to our largest models, wide blades with large 20mm long teeth for heavy cutting can be used to rip cut up to 300mm thick timber. A bandsaw can rip thick timber with less effort than a circular saw. To cut 300mm thick on a circular saw, a 900mm (36”) diameter blade would be required with a 15 to 25hp motor, when a $1700.00 bandsaw with 2hp motor can do the job.
The versatility of a bandsaw allows not only the use of wide rip blades as described above, but also the use of narrow, fine tooth bandsaw blades down to 6mm wide to cut out intricate shapes similar to fretwork. Also using the mitre gauge on the bandsaw, accurate crosscutting at 90° or any angle to 45° both ways can be performed on the bandsaw, including compound angles, by also incorporating the tilting work table.
